Happy Thanksgiving

I'm home alone this Thanksgiving, and sitting here so happy and blessed I can hardly contain myself. I realize how different life is when you know Christ. Today, I do not take my joy for granted. I know too many others have spent the day alone discouraged, and miserable, broken, and lonely.
But because of Christ I've spent this day alone less alone than I've ever been before.

I had a wonderful day. I'm so thankful that He loves me. Simple as that.

I hope your Thanksgiving was more special than ever before.

God bless.

And btw, I'm also thankful for Stove Top stuffing. Even though it's no where near as good as the real stuff, my slice of turkey would not have been the same without it.

And I'm thankful my neighbors (the worlds greatest neighbors) invited me over for Thanksgiving dinner (even though I had to decline) it just proved how wonderful and giving they really are.

I'm also thankful for cell phones that have a world of people I care about just a few message clicks away.

I'm also thankful I've got a job.

And every once in awhile, usually after looking at my finances, I find myself profoundly thankful for my car. It's paid for. And God is still helping it chug on down the road.

I'm thankful for my "people". Those I don't talk to, or lean on as much as I could, or maybe even should, but have proven themselves to be friends of priceless value. They've given more to me, and taught me more than they realize.

I'm thankful for Gods direction. It's always exciting when you know exactly what God is leading you into next and you don't question it or doubt it even though you know it will not be easy. I appreciate that with God I can "know that I know that I know that I know".

I'm thankful for God changing me. Never letting me go my own way for too long. For starting a work in me, because I know He will be faithful to finish it. That gives me constant confidence - He's got a plan. He's got a plan for me. The end results, whether I see them myself or not, will be wonderful.

I'm thankful for a thankful heart. I'm sure that sounds crazy, but I know so many people who just can't seem to get past situations to find the positive and the overwhelming amount of things we have to be thankful for. Those people always strike me as unhappy. And while I certainly do my share of complaining - I don't have to struggle with bitterness and discontent as much as so many people do. I'm not special for this, it's just yet another God thing. And I'm grateful for it. I'd much rather be happy and content, and He's supplied that in my heart with abundance. :)

I'm thankful for eternal salvation. He could love me just on this Earth and I would be blessed beyond measure. But instead of stopping there He makes sure that I will get to spend eternity with Him.
My mind doesn't even begin to grasp how wonderful that is, but I do understand that it's got to be beyond amazing. I get eternity. With God.
To say I'm thankful for that is like calling the grand canyon a pot hole. Words just don't measure...

I'm thankful for this blog. I've met some terrific people through it, and I know being able to write some things out has really helped me. I can't believe I've been blogging 4 years.
