I walked a mile with pleasure

I was listening to a radio preacher this evening and heard this quote attached to this verse. I just thought I'd put it together here, because I thought it was really good.

I walked a mile with Pleasure;
She chatted all the way;
But left me none the wiser
For all she had to say.

I walked a mile with Sorrow,
And ne’er a word said she;
But, oh! The things I learned from her,
When sorrow walked with me.
Robert Browning Hamilton

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. Psalms 4:1

good sharing.
what a wonderful verse and psalm.
they relate quiet well a lot of the walk. not made physically or mentaly easy for any of us, but, we are never alone in our growing up in this new life that can be very strange and hard to understand.

it is like we have to learn new language at every turn.

Thanks for stopping by preacherman. I read your blog regularly as well and it's nice to have you visit!

I thought it was a great quote myself, especially the preachers point that he made with that verse from Psalms. I wish I knew who I was listening to so the sermon could be read online or something.

Hey Nance.

It's not an easy journey for us. Though your comment reminded me of an old story about a man who could "Sleep while the wind blew"

It's a great lesson about how there CAN be peace in the storm. But it comes from the work that was accomplished before the storm hit.
